暮らしの道具を通して、環境への負荷を減らす取り組みを行っている高橋百合子さん。近年、地球が抱える環境問題の一因は、普段の暮らしにおける自身の選択から生まれていると感じ、少しでも地球環境により良い選択肢を増やすために、木の端材を原料にしたふきんやスポンジを普及させる活動をはじめました。今後、さまざまな分野で環境負荷をかけないサステナブルな選択肢が増える社会にしていきたいと語る高橋さんの思い描く未来とは？

Ms. Yuriko Takahashi is working to reduce the burden we place on the environment through the everyday items that we use. In recent years, she feels that one cause of the environmental problems the planet is facing stems from the choices we make in our everyday lives. In order to give consumers more options that are better for the global environment, she has begun working to popularize dishcloths and sponges made from wood scraps. Ms. Takahashi says she wants to create a society where there are more sustainable choices in different facets of our lives that do not place a burden on the environment. What kind of future does she envision?
